Plein Air Québec (pleinairquebec.com) is a free platform that lists thousands of outdoor places and activities across Quebec: hiking, camping, cottages, kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, cycling, beaches, national parks, agritourism and more. It offers detailed listings for each place, a map, practical guides and a blog to help plan outdoor outings.
Is it free?+
Yes. Browsing the site, the map, the listings, the guides and the blog is entirely free for visitors. Creating an account to save favourites, share photos or suggest a place is also free.
Which activities and regions are covered?+
Plein Air Québec covers all 17 administrative regions of Quebec and a wide range of activities: hiking, camping, cottages and rentals, kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), swimming and beaches, cycling, climbing, golf, winter activities, nature watching, hunting and fishing, plus agritourism (orchards, vineyards, sugar shacks, U-pick) and tourist attractions.
How do I add a place that’s missing?+
Click “Add a place” in the menu or the footer, or use the button on the map. Enter the name, location and details of the place. Our team reviews the submission, enriches it if needed and publishes it.
My business already has a listing: how do I edit or claim it?+
On your listing, click “Suggest a correction” to propose changes (name, description, contact info, services, website). To manage the listing yourself, click “Is this listing yours?” to claim it (email verification). Once claimed, your edits apply directly without review — and your listing is featured: it moves to the top of its category list (e.g. camping, cottage), making it more visible to visitors.
Where does the listing data come from?+
Some listings come from the Quebec government’s open tourism data (Données Québec — Tourism Information System, CC-BY 4.0 licence), supplemented by our own research and by contributions from businesses and the community. Each business keeps control of its listing and can enrich it or request its removal.
How do I add my photos to a listing?+
Sign in with one click using Google, then, on the listing, use the “Add your photos” section to upload your main photo and gallery. We review photos before they are published. Photos uploaded by an owner, an administrator or the community are considered official; other images carry an “Unofficial photo” label for transparency.
How do I remove or reactivate a listing?+
Write to us at info@h1site.com with the name of the place (or reply to the email you received). Please note that any listing removal request, as well as any request to reactivate a removed listing, is subject to a $25 administrative fee per listing.
How does “Around me” work?+
The “Around me” feature uses your device’s geolocation (with your permission) to show the outdoor places nearest to your location, sorted by distance. No location is stored.
Can I advertise or become a partner?+
Yes! Plein Air Québec is the hub of a network of outdoor websites in Quebec (Pêcheur, Course, Cyclo). Banners on one site or the whole network, transparent rates based on real audience, online booking and payment (1 to 6 months) — you can also submit a coupon/promotion. Questions: info@h1site.com.
