Plein Air Québec (pleinairquebec.com) is a free platform that lists thousands of outdoor places and activities across Quebec: hiking, camping, cottages, kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, cycling, beaches, national parks, agritourism and more. It offers detailed listings for each place, a map, practical guides and a blog to help plan outdoor outings.
Is it free?+
Yes. Browsing the site, the map, the listings, the guides and the blog is entirely free for visitors. Creating an account to save favourites, share photos or suggest a place is also free.
Which activities and regions are covered?+
Plein Air Québec covers all 17 administrative regions of Quebec and a wide range of activities: hiking, camping, cottages and rentals, kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), swimming and beaches, cycling, climbing, golf, winter activities, nature watching, hunting and fishing, plus agritourism (orchards, vineyards, sugar shacks, U-pick) and tourist attractions.
How do I add a place that’s missing?+
Click “Add a place” in the menu or the footer, or use the button on the map. Enter the name, location and details of the place. Our team reviews the submission, enriches it if needed and publishes it.
How do I claim my listing (become the owner)?+
On your listing, click “Is this listing yours?”. Sign in with one click using Google, then enter the business’s official email: we send a verification code there. Enter the code and the listing is yours. Verification is free and takes under two minutes.
The verification email is wrong, or I no longer have access to it. What can I do?+
No problem: email us at info@h1site.com from an address linked to the business (website, social media, domain name) or with proof that you represent it. We verify manually and attach the listing to your account. We can also correct the listing’s official email at the same time.

Once signed in as the owner, a green “You manage this listing” banner appears at the top of the listing, with a “Guide to edit your listing” button that explains everything. In short: click “Edit listing” to change the description, contact info, hours, prices and details (capacity, rooms…) — your text is auto-translated to English. As a verified owner, all your changes are published immediately, with no wait.
How do I manage my photos: add, set the main one, delete?+
Add: in “Edit listing” (photo section) or via “Share a photo”, upload your images — for a verified owner they appear immediately. Main photo: in the photo section, click an image to set it as the cover (shown everywhere on the site). Delete: click a photo in the gallery to enlarge it, then “Delete photo” (with confirmation); the × button on each thumbnail in the form does the same. Deletion is immediate.
What are the benefits of claiming my listing?+
A claimed listing is featured: it moves to the top of its category list (e.g. camping, cottage), making it more visible to visitors. You keep full control of the content (text, photos, contact info, prices), your changes publish instantly, and you can remove any image that doesn’t represent you at any time.
Where does the listing data come from?+
Some listings come from the Quebec government’s open tourism data (Données Québec — Tourism Information System, CC-BY 4.0 licence), supplemented by our own research and by contributions from businesses and the community. Each business keeps control of its listing and can enrich it or request its removal.
Do I need an account to add a photo? Are photos reviewed?+
Sign in with one click using Google, then use “Share a photo” on the listing. If you are the verified owner, your photos are published immediately. Photos submitted by the community (visitors) are reviewed by our team before appearing on the listing. Photos from an owner, an administrator, or approved ones are considered official; stock images carry an “Unofficial photo” label for transparency.
How do I remove or reactivate a listing?+
Write to us at info@h1site.com with the name of the place (or reply to the email you received). Removing a listing is free. Only reactivating a previously removed listing is subject to a $25 administrative fee per listing.
How does “Around me” work?+
The “Around me” feature uses your device’s geolocation (with your permission) to show the outdoor places nearest to your location, sorted by distance. No location is stored.
Can I advertise or become a partner?+
Yes! Plein Air Québec is the hub of a network of outdoor websites in Quebec (Pêcheur, Course, Cyclo). Banners on one site or the whole network, transparent rates based on real audience, online booking and payment (1 to 6 months) — you can also submit a coupon/promotion. Questions: info@h1site.com.
