Scuba diving is an activity that dates back centuries, but it really took off in the 20th century with the invention of the aqualung by Jacques Cousteau and Émile Gagnan in 1943. In Quebec, scuba diving has gained popularity thanks to the province’s rich aquatic ecosystems, particularly in the clear waters of Jacques-Cartier National Park and the Saguenay Fjord.
